Building Project
What’s the idea behind it?
A church in the heart of our village, where everyone can see in, find out what’s going on and through that witness see God. A vision of a church where people can see the cross.
Why now?
Over the last few years the church has grown in numbers and involvement in our community. We decided to explore ways of making the space more flexible because the building is limiting what we can do. We realised we had two options – significantly improve facilities, or struggle as space becomes an increasing problem.
What do we want to achieve?
A building people can see into, that is easily accessible, welcoming and unthreatening.

The Journey So Far
Premises redevelopment phase 1: 2009
This saw the redevelopment of our upstairs rooms which are used by the village preschool and our junior church. We also hire these rooms for parties and groups. Working with local tradesmen we renewed the flooring, put in a new ceiling and installed partitions that can divide the room into two or three spaces. We put in a new kitchenette and new toilet facilities and redecorated throughout. Preschool installed new storage cupboards. The rooms look brilliant and are much easier to use now.
Premises redevelopment phase 2: 2010-11
The church meeting came back with a decisive voice that the chapel is the next area for development. We have started by removing the pipe organ in August 2010 (this has been given to a church in Essex). Builders have finished the main refurbishment, although there are still a few snags.
Please click here for photos taken during the refurbishment...
and here for before and after pictures....
Now is an exciting time as we see how this building contributes to our worship and service within our community.
